Tirepressureschangebyapproximately1psi(7kPa)per
12°F(7°C)ofairtemperaturechange.Keepthisinmind

After inspecting or adjusting the tire pressure, al-
waysreinstallthevalvestemcap(ifequipped).This
will prevent moisture and dirt from entering the
valvestem,whichcoulddamageit.
whencheckingtirepressureinsideagarage,especiallyin
thewinter.
Example: If garage temperature = 68°F (20°C) and the
outside temperature = 32°F (0°C) then the cold tire
inflationpressureshouldbeincreasedby3psi(21kPa),
which equals 1 psi (7 kPa) for every 12°F (7°C) for this
outsidetemperaturecondition.
Inflation pressures specified on the placard are always
coldtireinflationpressure.Coldtireinflationpressureis
definedasthetirepressureafterthevehiclehasnotbeen
drivenforatleastthreehours,ordrivenlessthan1mile

build-up,oryourtirepressurewillbetoolow.

Tire Pressures For High Speed  Operation
Checktirepressuresmoreoftenifsubjecttoawiderange

temperaturechanges.
The manufacturer advocates driving  at safe speeds
withinpostedspeedlimits.Wherespeedlimitsorcondi-
tions are such that the vehicle can be driven at high
speeds,maintainingcorrecttireinflationpressureisvery
