Connecting The iPodா
Using This Feature
UsetheoptionalconnectioncabletoconnectaniPodto
the vehicle’s 16–pin connector port (which is located in
the glove compartment on some vehicles). Once the
iPodisconnectedandsynchronizedtothevehicle’sUCI
system (iPod may take a few seconds to connect), the
iPod starts charging and is ready for use by pressing
radioswitches,asdescribedbelow.
By using the optional connection cable to connect an
iPodtothevehicle’sUCI16–pinconnectorport:
•
TheiPodaudiocanbeplayedonthevehicle’ssound
system,providingmetadata(Artist,tracktitle,album,
etc.)informationontheradiodisplay.
• ThePlay,iPodBrowse,canandbecontrolledListtheiPodusingcontents.theradiobuttonsto
• Theconnector.iPodbatterychargeswhenpluggedintotheUCI
NOTE:
•
Youmayhavetoremovetheconnectorpinprotection
capfromthe16–pinconnectorport,priortoconnect-
ingthecable.
Controlling The iPodா Using Radio Buttons
TogetintotheUCI(iPod)modeandaccessaconnected
iPod, press the ‘AUX’ button on the radio faceplate.
Once in the UCI (iPod) mode, iPod audio tracks (if
available from iPod) start playing over the vehicle’s
audiosystem.
•
If the iPod battery is completely discharged, it may
not communicate with the UCI system until a mini-
mumchargeisattained.LeavingtheiPodconnected
totheUCIsystemmaychargeittotherequiredlevel.
