UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
Connecting The iPodா
Using This Feature
UsetheoptionalconnectioncabletoconnectaniPod௡to
the vehicle’s 16–pin connector port (which is located in
the glove compartment on some vehicles). Once the
iPod௡isconnectedandsynchronizedtothevehicle’sUCI
system (iPod௡ may take a few seconds to connect), the
iPod௡ starts charging and is ready for use by pressing
radioswitches,asdescribedbelow.
By using the optional connection cable to connect an
iPod௡tothevehicle’sUCI16–pinconnectorport:
•
TheiPod௡audiocanbeplayedonthevehicle’ssound
system,providingmetadata(Artist,tracktitle,album,
etc.)informationontheradiodisplay.
• ThePlay,iPodBrowse,௡canandbecontrolledListtheiPodusing௡contents.theradiobuttonsto
• Theconnector.iPod௡batterychargeswhenpluggedintotheUCI
NOTE:
•
Youmayhavetoremovetheconnectorpinprotection
capfromthe16–pinconnectorport,priortoconnect-
ingthecable.
Controlling The iPodா Using Radio  Buttons
TogetintotheUCI(iPod௡)modeandaccessaconnected
iPod௡, press the ‘AUX’ button on the radio faceplate.
Once in the UCI (iPod௡) mode, iPod௡ audio tracks (if
available from iPod௡) start playing over the vehicle’s
audiosystem.
•
If the iPod௡ battery is completely discharged, it may
not communicate with the UCI system until a mini-
mumchargeisattained.LeavingtheiPod௡connected
totheUCIsystemmaychargeittotherequiredlevel.
