The rain-sensing feature can be turned on and off
through the Electronic Vehicle Information Center
(EVIC) — if equipped. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC)/Personal Settings (Cus-
tomer-Programmable Features)” in “Understanding
YourInstrumentPanel”forfurtherinformation.
The sensitivity of the system is adjustable from the
windshield wiper/washer control lever. Wiper delay
position1istheleastsensitiveandwiperdelayposition

isthemostsensitive.Chooseposition3fornormalrain
conditions.Chooseposition2or1ifyoudesirelesswiper
sensitivity. Choose position 4 or 5 if you desire more
sensitivity. Place the lever in the off position when not
usingthesystem.
The rain-sensing system has protective features for the
wiper blades and arms. It will not operate under the
followingconditions:

Low Temperature Wipe Inhibit — The rain-sensing
feature will not operate when the ignition is first
switchedON,thevehicleisstationary,andtheoutside
temperatureisbelow32°F(0°C).Ifthewipercontrol
is moved, the vehicle speed becomes greater than

The rain-sensing feature will not operate when the
wiperspeedisintheloworhighposition.

The rain-sensing feature may not function properly
when ice or dried salt water is present on the wind-
shield.
