STARTING AND OPERATING
The parking brake must be firmly engaged and the
wheelschockedduringdriveshaftremovalandinstalla-
tion.Theparkingbrakemustremainengagedunlessthe
vehicle is securely and properly connected to the tow
vehicle, or the driveshaft is completely reinstalled. See
your authorized dealer for proper driveshaft removal
and reinstallation procedures, including flange orienta-
tion/alignment,useofthread-lockingcompound,proper
bolttorquespecifications,etc.

• recreationalThe transmissiontowing.mustFailurebe intofollowPARK positiontheseproce-for
durescancauseseveretransmissionand/ortrans-
fercasedamage.

Internal damage to the transmission or transfer
casewilloccurifafrontorrearwheelliftisused
whenrecreationaltowing.
Beforerecreationaltowing,performtheprocedure
outlined under “Shifting into NEUTRAL” to be
certainthatthetransfercaseisfullyinNEUTRAL.
Otherwise,internaldamagewillresult.
Donotuseabumpermountedclamp-ontowbar
on your vehicle. The bumper face bar will be
damaged.
Four-Wheel Drive Models
ThetransfercasemustbeshiftedintoNEUTRALandthe
transmission must be placed in PARK for recreational
towing.TheNEUTRALselectionbuttonislocatedatthe
top of the transfer case switch. Shifts into and out of
transfercaseNEUTRALcantakeplacewiththeselector
switchinanymodeposition.
