Finish tightening the lug nuts. Push down on the

wrenchwhiletighteningforincreasedleverage.Alternate
nutsuntileachnuthasbeentightenedtwice.Thecorrect
wheelnuttightnessis95ftlb(130N·m).Ifindoubtabout
the correct tightness, have them checked with a torque
wrenchbyyourauthorizeddealerorataservicestation.
Raisingthevehiclehigherthannecessarycanmake
thevehiclelessstableandcauseanaccident.Itcould
slipoffthejackandhurtsomeonenearit.Raisethe
vehicleonlyenoughtoremovethetire.

Lowerthejacktoit’sfullyclosedposition.

Removethelugnutsandwheel.

Positionthesparewheel/tireonthevehicleandinstall
lug nuts with the cone-shaped end toward the wheel.
Lightlytightenthenuts.Toavoidtheriskofforcingthe
vehicleoffthejack,donottightenthenutsfullyuntilthe
vehiclehasbeenlowered.
Aloosetireorjack,thrownforwardinacollisionor
hard stop, could endanger the occupants of the ve-
hicle.Alwaysstowthejackpartsandthesparetirein
theplacesprovided.

Lowerthevehiclebyturningthejackscrewtotheleft,
andremovethejackandwheelblocks.
11. Secure the tire, jack, and tools in their proper
locations.
