WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
JUMP-STARTING PROCEDURES
WARNING!
Ifyourvehiclehasadischargedbatteryitcanbejump-
started using a set of jumper cables and a battery in
another vehicle or by using a portable battery booster
pack.Jump-startingcanbedangerousifdoneimproperly
sopleasefollowtheproceduresinthissectioncarefully.
When temperatures are below the freezing point,
electrolyteinadischargedbatterymayfreeze.Donot
attemptjump-startingbecausethebatterycouldrup-
ture or explode and cause personal injury. Battery
temperature must be brought above the freezing
pointbeforeattemptingajump-start.
NOTE:
When using a portable battery booster pack
follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions and
precautions.
Preparations for Jump-Start
Thebatteryinyourvehicleislocatedinthefrontofthe
enginecompartment,behindtheleftheadlightassembly.
CAUTION!
Do not use a portable battery booster pack or any
other booster source with a system voltage greater
than12Voltsordamagetothebattery,startermotor,
alternatororelectricalsystemmayoccur.
NOTE:
protective cap. Lift up on the cap to gain access to the
positivebatterypost.
