The ORC is part of a Federally regulated safety system
requiredforthisvehicle.

Relying on the airbags alone could lead to more
severe injuries in a collision. The airbags work
with your seat belt to restrain you properly. In
some collisions, the airbags won’t deploy at all.
Alwayswearyourseatbeltseventhoughyouhave
airbags.
Beingtooclosetothesteeringwheelorinstrument
panelduringairbagdeploymentcouldcauseseri-
ousinjury,includingdeath.Airbagsneedroomto
inflate.Sitback,comfortablyextendingyourarms
toreachthesteeringwheelorinstrumentpanel.
Thesidecurtainairbagsneedroomtoinflate.Do
notleanagainstthedoororwindow.Situprightin
thecenteroftheseat.
Basedontheimpactsensorssignals,acentralelectronic
ORC deploys theAdvanced FrontAirbags, side airbags
— if equipped, and front seat belt pretensioners — if
equipped,asrequired,dependingoneachtypeofimpact.

Advanced FrontAirbags are designed to provide addi-
tional protection by supplementing the seat belts in
certain frontal collisions depending on the severity and
type of collision. Advanced Front Airbags are not ex-
pectedtoreducetheriskofinjuryinrear,side,orrollover
collisions.
TheAdvancedFrontAirbagswillnotdeployinallfrontal
collisions,includingsomethatmayproducesubstantial
vehicle damage — for example, some pole collisions,
