malfunctionintheelectricalsystemand
theliftgatecannotbeunlocked,perform

measuretounlockit:
Usebothhandstopushtheliftgatedown
untilthelocksnapsshut.Donotslamit.
Pullupontheliftgatetomakesureitis
securelylatched.

Donotplaceanythingontopofthe

oftheliftgatewithaflathead
screwdriver.
Placingluggageorothercargoon
topoftheluggagecompartment
coverisdangerous.Duringsudden
brakingoracollision,thecargo
couldbecomeaprojectilethatcould
hitandinjuresomeone.Thevehicle
hasalightweightluggage
Cap
compartmentcovertokeepthe
contentsofyourluggageareaoutof
sight;itwillnotretainheavyobjects
thatarenottieddowninanaccident
suchasarollover.Tiedownallheavy
objects,whetherluggageorcargo,
usingthetiedownhooks.

Turnthelevertotherighttounlockthe
liftgate.
Makesureluggageandcargois
securedbeforedriving:
Notsecuringcargowhiledrivingis
dangerousasitcouldmoveorbe
crushedduringsuddenbrakingora
collisionandcauseinjury.

Makesuretheluggagecompartment
coverisfirmlysecured.Ifitisnot
firmlysecured,itcouldunexpectedly
disengageresultingininjury.
Afterperformingthisemergencymeasure,
