Thefrontandsidesupplementalrestraintsystems(SRS)include6airbags.Pleaseverify
theairbagsequippedonyourvehiclebylocatingthe“SRSAIRBAG”location
indicators.Theseindicatorsarevisibleintheareawheretheairbagsareinstalled.
Theairbagsareinstalledinthefollowinglocations:
Thesteeringwheelhub(driverairbag)

Thefrontpassengerdashboard(frontpassengerairbag)
l
Theoutboardsidesofthefrontseatbacks(sideairbags)
l
Thefrontandrearwindowpillars,andtheroofedgealongbothsides(curtainairbags)

Theairbagsupplementalrestraintsystemsaredesignedtoprovidesupplementalprotection
incertainsituations,soseatbeltsarealwaysimportantinthefollowingways:
Withoutseatbeltusage,theairbagscannotprovideadequateprotectionduringanaccident.
Seatbeltusageisnecessaryto:
Keeptheoccupantfrombeingthrownintoaninflatingairbag.

Reducethepossibilityofinjuriesduringanaccidentthatisnotdesignedforairbag
l
inflation,suchasroll-overorrearimpact.
Reducethepossibilityofinjuriesinfrontal,nearfrontal,sidecollisionsthatarenot
l
severeenoughtoactivatetheairbags.
Reducethepossibilityofbeingthrownfromyourvehicle.
l
Reducethepossibilityofinjuriestolowerbodyandlegsduringanaccidentbecausethe
l
airbagsprovidenoprotectiontothesepartsofthebody.
Holdthedriverinapositionwhichallowsbettercontrolofthevehicle.
l
Yourvehicleisalsoequippedwithadriverandfrontpassengeroccupant
classificationsystem.Fordetails,refertothedriverandfrontpassengeroccupant
classificationsystem(page2-56).
Smallchildrenmustbeprotectedbyachild-restraintsystemasstipulatedbylawinevery
stateandprovince.Incertainstatesandprovinces,largerchildrenmustuseachild-restraint
system(page2-28).
Carefullyconsiderwhichchild-restraintsystemisnecessaryforyourchildandfollowthe
installationdirectionsinthisOwner'sManualaswellasthechild-restraintsystem
manufacturer'sinstructions.
