Whethertheengineiscoldorwarm,it

shouldbestartedwithouttheuseofthe
accelerator.
Afterinsertingtheauxiliarykey,do
notattempttoturnitinthekeyslot.
Itcoulddamagethevehicleorthe
auxiliarykey.
Iftheenginedoesnotstartthefirsttime,
refertoStartingaFloodedEngineunder
EmergencyStarting.Iftheenginestilldoes
notstart,haveyourvehicleinspectedbyan
AuthorizedMazdaDealer(page7-17).

Pressthepushbuttonstarttostartthe
engine.
Startingtheengineusingtheauxiliary
key
NOTE
Leavetheauxiliarykeyinthekeyslotwhile
theengineisrunning.
Iftheenginecannotbestartedforreasons
suchastheadvancedkeybatteryisdead,
theenginecanbestartedusingthe
auxiliarykey.

Whenleavingthevehicle,removethe
auxiliarykeyfromthekeyslotandthe
vehicle.
Toswitchtheignitionposition,insertthe
auxiliarykeyintothekeyslotandpressthe
pushbuttonstartwithoutthebrake
(automatictransaxle)orclutchpedal
(manualtransaxle)depressed.

bottomoftheadvancedkey.

Usetheauxiliarykeytoremovethe
keyslotcover.
