Thiswarninghasthefollowingfunctions:
Parkingbrakewarning
Thelightilluminateswhentheparking
brakeisappliedwiththeignitionswitched
toSTARTorON.Itturnsoffwhenthe
parkingbrakeisfullyreleased.

dangerous.Itindicatesthatyour
brakesmaynotworkatallorthat
theycouldcompletelyfailatany
time.Ifthislightremains

Ifthelightstaysonaftertheparkingbrake

TheABScontrolunitcontinuously
monitorsthespeedofeachwheel.Ifone
isabouttolockup,theABSrespondsby
automaticallyreleasingandreapplying
thatwheel'sbrake.
Youmaynoticethatthepedalisharderto
depressorthatitmaygoclosertothe
floor.Ineithercase,itwilltakelongerto
stopthevehicle.
Thedriverwillfeelaslightvibrationin
thebrakepedalandmayhearachattering
noisefromthebrakesystem.Thisis
normalwhentheABSoperates.Continue
todepressthebrakepedalwithout
pumpingthebrakes.

Withtheenginestopped,openthe
hoodandcheckthebrakefluidlevel
immediately,andthenaddfluidif
required(page8-22).
2.
Afteraddingfluid,checkthelight
again.
Ifthewarninglightremainson,orifthe
brakesdonotoperateproperly,donot
drivethevehicle.Haveittowedtoan
AuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Evenifthelightturnsoffhaveyourbrake
systeminspectedassoonaspossibleby
anAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
