Whileitisalwaysbettertoinstallany
child-restraintsystemontherear
seat,itisimperativethatachild-
restraintsystemONLYbeusedonthe
frontpassengerseatifthe
deactivationindicatorlight
illuminateswhenthechildisseated
inthechild-restraintsystem(page
2-56).
Seatingachildinachild-
restraintsysteminstalledonthefront
passengerseatwiththefront
passengerairbagdeactivation
indicatorlightnotilluminatedis
dangerous.Ifthisindicatorlightdoes
notilluminateevenwhenthetotal
seatedweightislessthan
approximately30kg(66lb),this
meansthatthefrontpassengerfront
andsideairbags,andseatbelt
pretensionerarereadyfor
deployment.Ifanaccidentwereto
deployanairbag,achildinachild-
restraintsystemsittinginthefront
passengerseatcouldbeseriously
injuredorkilled.Iftheindicatorlight
doesnotilluminateafterseatinga
childinachild-restraintsystemon
thefrontpassengerseat,seatachild
inachild-restraintsystemontherear
seatandconsultanAuthorized
MazdaDealerassoonaspossible.
