intheforwarddirection,reducing
excessiverearwardtiltingoftheheadand
reducingtheloadontheneck.Theactive
headrestraintsarealsohighlyeffectiveat
reducingwhip-lashinjurieswhich
commonlyoccurinrear-endcollisionsat
lowtomid-rangevehiclespeeds.
Removal/Installation
Toremovetheheadrestraint,pullitup
whilepressingthestop-catch.
Toinstalltheheadrestraint,pressthe
uprightsintotheholeswhilepressingthe
stop-catch.
WARNING
Alwaysdrivewiththeheadrestraints
setupwhenseatsarebeingusedand
makesuretheyareproperlysetup:
Drivingwiththeheadrestraintsnot
setupisdangerous.Withnosupport
behindyourhead,yourneckcouldbe
seriouslyinjuredinacollision.
WARNING
ØAlwaysadjusttheheadrestraints
properlyasspecifiedinthis
section.Failuretodosocan
reducetheeffectivenessofthe
activeheadrestraint.
ØDonotattachanyaccessoriessuch
asaTVscreentoafrontseatback
and/orafrontheadrestraint.Also
donotplaceheavyitemsorthick
items,orbothintheseatback
pocket.Doingsocouldreducethe
effectivenessoftheactivehead
restraintinarear-endcollision.
