Vehicleswithahighercenterofgravitysuchasutilityand
four-wheeldrivevehicleshandledifferentlythanvehicleswitha
lowercenterofgravity.Utilityandfour-wheeldrivevehiclesarenot
designedforcorneringatspeedsashighaspassengercarsanymore
thanlow-slungsportscarsaredesignedtoperformsatisfactorilyunder
off-roadconditions.Avoidsharpturns,excessivespeedandabrupt
maneuversinthesevehicles.Failuretodrivecautiouslycouldresultin
anincreasedriskoflossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personal
injuryanddeath.
Loadedvehicles,withahighercenterofgravity,mayhandle
differentlythanunloadedvehicles.Extraprecautions,suchas
slowerspeedsandincreasedstoppingdistance,shouldbetakenwhen
drivingaheavilyloadedvehicle.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED)
Brake-shift interlock
Thisvehicleisequippedwithabrake-shiftinterlockfeaturethatprevents
thegearshiftleverfrombeingmovedfromP(Park)whentheignitionis
intheONpositionunlessbrakepedalisdepressed.
IfyoucannotmovethegearshiftleveroutofP(Park)withignitionin
theONpositionandthebrakepedaldepressed:
1.Applytheparkingbrake,turnignitionkeytoLOCK,thenremovethe
key.
