outsideofavehicle.Inacollision,peopleridingintheseareas
aremorelikelytobeseriouslyinjuredorkilled.Donotallowpeopleto
rideinanyareaofyourvehiclethatisnotequippedwithseatsand
safetybelts.Besureeveryoneinyourvehicleisinaseatandusinga
safetybeltproperly.
Inarollovercrash,anunbeltedpersonissignificantlymorelikely
todiethanapersonwearingasafetybelt.
Eachseatingpositioninyourvehiclehasaspecificsafetybelt
assemblywhichismadeupofonebuckleandonetonguethat
aredesignedtobeusedasapair.1)Usetheshoulderbeltonthe
outsideshoulderonly.Neverweartheshoulderbeltunderthearm.2)
Neverswingthesafetybeltaroundyourneckovertheinsideshoulder.

seatandalwaysproperlyuseappropriatechildrestraints.
Safetybeltsandseatscanbecomehotinavehiclethathasbeen
closedupinsunnyweather;theycouldburnasmallchild.Check
seatcoversandbucklesbeforeyouplaceachildanywherenearthem.
