Donotreplaceyourtireswith“highperformance”tiresorlarger
sizetires.
Failuretofollowtheseprecautionsmayadverselyaffectthe
handlingofthevehicle,andincreasetheriskoflossofvehicle
control,vehiclerolloverand/orpersonalinjury.
Tiresthatarelargerorsmallerthanyourvehicle’soriginaltiresmayalso
affecttheaccuracyofyourspeedometer.
USING SNOW TIRES AND  TRACTION DEVICES
Snowtiresmustbethesamesizeandgradeasthetiresyou
currentlyhaveonyourvehicle.
Thetiresonyourvehiclehaveall-weathertreadstoprovidetractionin
rainandsnow.However,insomeclimates,usingsnowtiresortraction
devicesmaybenecessary.
Followtheseguidelineswhenusingsnowtiresandtractiondevices:
SAEclass“S”cableshouldbeusedonlyonfrontaxleforP235/70R16
tires.WithP225/70R15andP215/70R16tires,SAEclass“S”cablescan
beusedonboththefrontandrearwheels.
Installcablesorchainssecurely,verifyingthatthecablesorchainsdo
nottouchanywiring,brakelinesorfuellines.
Drivecautiously.Ifyouhearthecablesorchainsruborbangagainst
thevehicle,stopandretightenthem.Ifthisdoesnotwork,removethe
cablesorchainstopreventvehicledamage.
Avoidoverloadingyourvehicle.
Removethecablesorchainswhentheyarenolongerneeded.
Donotusecablesorchainsondryroads.
Donotexceed48km/h(30mph)withtirecablesorchainsonyour
vehicle.
ConsultyourdealerforinformationonotherFordapprovedmethodsof
tractioncontrol.
