Ifyouusethetemporarysparetirecontinuouslyordonotfollow
theseprecautions,thetirecouldfail,causingyoutolosecontrol
ofthevehicle,possiblyinjuringyourselforothers.
Whendrivingwiththetemporarysparetiredonot:
usemorethanonetemporarysparetireatatime
exceed80km/h(50mph)ordrivefurtherthan3,200km(2,000miles)
totalunderanycircumstances
loadthevehiclebeyondmaximumvehicleloadratinglistedonthe
SafetyComplianceLabel
towatrailer
usetirechains
trytorepairthetemporarysparetireorremoveitfromitswheel
usethewheelforanyothertypeofvehicle
Useofatemporarysparetireatanyonewheellocationcanleadto
impairmentofthefollowing:
handling,stabilityandbrakingperformance
comfortandnoise
groundclearanceandparkingatcurbs
Winterdrivingcapability
Tire change procedure
Whenoneofthefrontwheelsisofftheground,thetransmission
alonewillnotpreventthevehiclefrommovingorslippingoffthe
jack,evenifthevehicleisinP(Park)(automatictransaxle)orR
(Reverse)(manualtransaxle).
Topreventthevehiclefrommovingwhenyouchangeatire,be
suretheparkingbrakeisset,thenblock(inbothdirections)the
wheelthatisdiagonallyopposite(othersideandendofthevehicle)to
thetirebeingchanged.
Ifthevehicleslipsoffthejack,youorsomeoneelsecouldbe
seriouslyinjured.
