Addfluidtofillthereservoirifthe
levelislow.Inverycoldweather,do
notfillthereservoircompletely.
OnlyuseawasherfluidthatmeetsFordspecifications.Referto
Lubricantspecificationsinthischapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow4.5°C
(40°
F),usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failureto
usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercouldresult
inimpairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryor
accident.
Note:Donotputwasherfluidintheenginecoolantreservoir.Washer
fluidplacedinthecoolingsystemmayharmengineandcoolingsystem
components.
