Allowsupshiftsbymovinggearshiftlever.
Willnotdownshiftinto1(First)athighspeeds;allowsfor1(First)
whenvehiclereachesslowerspeeds.
Whenparking,donotusethegearshiftinplaceoftheparking
brake.Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesurethatthe
gearshiftissecurelylatchedinPark(P).Turnofftheignition
wheneveryouleaveyourvehicle.Neverleaveyourvehicleunattended
whileitisrunning.Ifyoudonottaketheseprecautions,yourvehicle
maymoveunexpectedlyandinjuresomeone.
Forceddownshifts
AllowedinD(Overdrive)orDrive.
Depresstheacceleratortothefloor.
Allowstransmissiontoselectanappropriategear.
If your vehicle gets  stuck in mud or snow
Ifyourvehiclegetsstuckinmudorsnow,itmayberockedoutby
shiftingfromforwardandreversegears,stoppingbetweenshiftsina
steadypattern.Presslightlyontheacceleratorineachgear.
Donotrockthevehicleiftheengineisnotatnormaloperating
temperatureordamagetothetransmissionmayoccur.
Donotrockthevehicleformorethanaminuteordamagetothe
transmissionandtiresmayoccur,ortheenginemayoverheat.
MANUAL TRANSAXLE OPERATION (IF  EQUIPPED)
Using the clutch
Vehiclesequippedwithamanualtransaxlehaveastarterinterrupt
interlockthatpreventscrankingoftheengineunlesstheclutchpedalis
depressed.
