stops.

Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.
Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.

Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilitstops.
Afterrefueling,ifthe“CHECKFUELCAP”indicatorcomesonandstays
onwhenyoustarttheengine,thefuelfillercapmaynotbeproperly
installed.Turnofftheengine,removethefuelfillercap,alignthecap
properlyandreinstallitsecurely.The“CHECKFUELCAP”indicator
shouldturnoffafterthreedrivingcycleswiththefuelfillercapproperly
installed.Adrivingcycleconsistsofacoldenginestart-upfollowedby
mixedcity/highwaydriving.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthe
correctgenuineFordorMotorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
Thefuelsystemmaybeunderpressure.Ifthefuelfillercapis
ventingvapororifyouhearahissingsound,waituntilitstops
beforecompletelyremovingthefuelfillercap.Otherwise,fuelmay
sprayoutandinjureyouorothers.
Ifyoudonotusetheproperfuelfillercap,excessivepressureor
vacuuminthefueltankmaydamagethefuelsystemorcause
thefuelcaptodisengageinacollision,whichmayresultinpossible
personalinjury.

UseonlyUNLEADEDFUEL.Theuseofleadedfuelisprohibitedbylaw
andcoulddamageyourvehicle.
Donotusefuelcontainingmethanol.Itcandamagecriticalfuelsystem
components.
