Thissystemenhancesdirectionalcontrolandstabilityof
the vehicle under various driving conditions. ESP cor-
rectsforover/understeeringofthevehiclebyapplying
the brake of the appropriate wheel to assist in counter-
acting the over/under steer condition. Engine power
may also be reduced to help the vehicle maintain the
desiredpath.
TheЉESP/TCSIndicatorLightЉlocatedintheinstrument
cluster,startstoflashassoonasthetireslosetractionand
theLightESPЉ alsosystemflashesbecomeswhenactive.TCS isTheactive.ЉESP/TCSIf the ЉESP/TCSIndicator 3
IndicatorLightЉbeginstoflashduringacceleration,ease
up on the accelerator and apply as little throttle as
possible.Besuretoadaptyourspeedanddrivingtothe
prevailingroadconditions.
ESPusessensorsinthevehicletodeterminethevehicle
pathintendedbythedriverandcomparesittotheactual
pathofthevehicle.Whentheactualpathdoesnotmatch
theintendedpath,ESPappliesthebrakeoftheappropri-
ate wheel to assist in counteracting the oversteer or
understeercondition.
