If the “ESP/BAS Warning Lamp” comes on
continuously with the engine running, a mal-
functionhasbeendetectedineithertheESPor
theBASsystem,orboth.Ifthislightremainson
after several ignition cycles, and the vehicle has been
driven several miles at speeds greater than 30 mph (48
km/h),seeyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossibleto
havetheproblemdiagnosedandcorrected.
REARPARKASSISTSYSTEM—IFEQUIPPED
TheRearParkAssistSystemprovidesvisualandaudible
indicationsofthedistancebetweentherearfasciaandthe
detectedobstaclewhenbackingup.RefertotheWarning
Section and Note Section for limitations of this system
andrecommendations.
The Rear Park Assist System will remember the last
systemstate(enabledordisabled)fromthelastignition
cycle when the ignition is changed to the RUN/ON
position.
NOTE:

ЉThe ЉESP/TCS Indicator LightЉ and the ЉESP/BAS
Warning LampЉ come on momentarily each time the
ignitionswitchisturnedON.
TheRearParkAssistSystemcanbeactiveonlywhenthe
shifterisinR(Reverse).IftheRearParkAssistSystemis
enabledatthisshifterposition,thesystemwillbeactive
untilthevehiclespeedisincreasedtoapproximately11
mph(18km/h)orabove.Thesystemwillbeactiveagain
if the vehicle speed is decreased to speeds less than
approximately10mph(16km/h).

EachtimetheignitionisturnedON,theESPSystem
willbeONevenifitwasturnedoffpreviously.
TheESPControlSystemwillmakebuzzingorclicking
sounds when it is active. This is normal; the sounds
will stop when ESP becomes inactive following the
maneuverthatcausedtheESPactivation.
