ON-ROADDRIVINGTIPS
Utility vehicles have higher ground clearance and a
narrowertracktomakethemcapableofperformingina
wide variety of off-road applications. Specific design
characteristicsgivethemahighercenterofgravitythan
ordinarycars.
WhenToUse4WDLOWRange—IfEquipped
Whenoff-roaddriving,shiftto4WDLOWforadditional
traction. This range should be limited to extreme situa-
tionssuchasdeepsnow,mud,orsandwhereadditional
low speed pulling power is needed. Vehicle speeds in
excessof25mph(40km/h)shouldbeavoidedwhenin
4WDLOWrange.
Anadvantageofthehighergroundclearanceisabetter
view of the road, allowing you to anticipate problems.
Theyarenotdesignedforcorneringatthesamespeedsas
conventional2-wheeldrivevehiclesanymorethanlow-
slungsportscarsaredesignedtoperformsatisfactorilyin
off-roadconditions.Ifatallpossible,avoidsharpturnsor
abrupt maneuvers. As with other vehicles of this type,
failuretooperatethisvehiclecorrectlymayresultinloss
ofcontrolorvehiclerollover.
