Inthismode,ESPandTCS,exceptforthe“limitedslip”
featuredescribedintheTCSsection,areturnedoffuntil
thevehiclereachesaspeedof40mph(64km/h).At40
mph(64km/h)thesystemreturnsto“PartialOff”mode,
describedabove.Whenthevehiclespeeddropsbelow35
mph(56km/h)theESPsystemshutsoff.ESPisoffatlow
vehicle speeds so that it will not interfere with off-road
drivingbutESPfunctionreturnstoprovidethestability
feature at speeds above 40 mph (64 km/h). The “ESP/
TCS Indicator Light” will always be illuminated when
ESPisoff.ToturnESPonagain,momentarilydepressthe
“ESPControlSwitch”.Thiswillrestorethenormal“ESP
On”modeofoperation.
WARNING!
With the ESP switched off, the enhanced vehicle
stabilityofferedbyESPandERMareunavailable.In
anemergencyevasivemaneuver,theESPandERM
systems will not engage to assist in maintaining
stability. The “Full Off” ESP mode is intended for
off-highwayoroff-roaduseonly.
4WDLowRange
FullOff
ThisisthenormaloperatingmodeforESPin4WDlow
range.Wheneverthevehicleisstartedin4WDlowrange,
or the transfer case (if equipped) is shifted from 4WD
highrangeorneutralto4WDlowrange,theESPsystem
will be in this mode. In 4WD low range, ESPand TCS,
exceptforthe“limitedslip”featuredescribedintheTCS
section,areturnedoffuntilthevehiclereachesaspeedof
NOTE: The “ESP OFF” message will display and the
audible chime will sound when the gear selector is
placed into the “P” (Park) position from any position
other than “P” (Park), and then moved out of the “P”
(Park)position.Thiswilloccurevenifthemessagewas
previouslycleared.
