Theseatbeltsinallpositionsexcept
thedriver’shavealockableretractor
thatmustbeactivatedtosecurea
childseat(seepage45).
Tofastenthebelt,insertthelatch
plateintothebuckle,thentugonthe
belttomakesurethebuckleis
latched(seepage15forhowto
properlypositionthebelt).
Iftheshoulderpartofthebeltis
pulledallthewayout,thelockable
retractorwillactivate.Thebeltwill
retract,butitwillnotallowthe
passengertomovefreely.
Tounlockthebelt,pressthered
PRESSbuttononthebuckle.Guide
thebeltacrossyourbodysothatit
retractscompletely.Afterexitingthe
vehicle,besurethebeltisoutofthe
wayandwillnotgetclosedinthe
door.
Todeactivatethelockableretractor,
unlatchthebuckleandlettheseat
beltfullyretract.Torefastenthe
seatbelt,pullitoutonlyasfaras
needed.
Foraddedprotection,thefrontseat
beltsareequippedwithautomatic
seatbelttensioners.Whenactivated,
thetensionersimmediatelytighten
thebeltstohelpholdthedriverand
afrontpassengerinposition.
Allseatbeltshaveanemergency
lockingretractor.Innormaldriving,
theretractorletsyoumovefreelyin
yourseatwhileitkeepssome
tensiononthebelt.Duringacollision
orsuddenstop,theretractor
automaticallylocksthebelttohelp
Thetensionersaredesignedto
activateinanycollisionsevere
enoughtocausethefrontairbagsto
deploy.
