systemwilldetectalooseormissing
fuelfillcapasanevaporativesystem
leak.Thefirsttimealeakisdetected
a‘‘CHECKFUELCAP’’message
appearsontheinformationdisplay.
Turntheengineoff,andconfirmthe
fuelfillcapisinstalled.Ifitis,loosen
it,thenretightenituntilitclicksat
leastonce.Themessageshouldgo
offafterseveraldaysofnormal
drivingonceyoutightenorreplace
thefuelfillcap.Toscrolltoanother
display,presstheSEL/RESET
button.The‘‘CHECKFUELCAP’’
messagewillappeareachtimeyou
restarttheengineuntilthesystem
turnsthemessageoff.
