Technical Information
There are many different immobiliser systems fitted to Renault vehicles some operating with
transponder technology and some with keyless card system, Infra-red or radio frequency may be
fitted to some models and is used for central door locking and alarm operation for the immobiliser
function transponder technology is used. There are three basic systems that are in use and all can be
programmed with your JMA RT3 Diagnostic unit, Pin codes are required for programming this can
be found in the service book or be requested from the Renault dealership. There are two different pin
codes for different vehicles one has an eight digit code and is used on MEGANE and SCENIC models
and a twelve digit code which is used on the CLIO and Laguna 11 models. When programming the
blue pod must be used in conjunction with the OBD-II diagnostic lead and after programming has
finished the vehicle should be left for 15 minutes before testing new keys. The remote plips can be
programmed after the transponder with special sequence this information is available in the key fob
