RT-3 USER GUIDE____________________________________________________
It’s absolutely necessary to know the immobilizer peculiarities to carry out in a right
way remote control and key codification.
Opposite to what you may think during the codification progress, keys are not
codified, actually, each key owns a different code and the immobilizer´s ECU just memorizes
the codes of the introduced keys.
To accomplish key codification (learning) you have take into account the following:
1.
It’s imperative to know the “PASSWORD” to carry out the learning process. This
code is handed to the customer with the keys and consists in a four character length
alphanumeric code printed on a card.
2.
3.
During key codification, old key codes are erased from ECU’s memory. This is why
it’s imperative to have all required keys for the same session.
In normal mode, after introducing the key in the ignition lock cylinder and putting the
contact on, the immobilizer´s lamp light’s while checking the code. In case the key
were authorized, the lamp shuts off in a second. On the contrary it remains on or
flashing while activates an acoustic signal. During the diagnostic through the terminal,
this working mode is defused, and it’s restored when the communication ends.
Moreover, while keeping communication between the Terminal and the immobilizer
module it won’t be possible to start the vehicle even with an authorized key. Once
again, normal operation is restored when the communication ends.
4.
Once keys are codified, they have to be checked one by one. If you choose manual
mode (verifying that the immobilizer´s lamp shuts off after putting contact) you have
to take into account that you have to wait at least 30 seconds with the key off from the
ignition lock cylinder. Otherwise, if you introduce a right key, and immediately after
you introduce a faulty one, this last will pass the check too, allowing to start the
vehicle. This way of working is because the immobilizer doesn’t check the key code
until 20-30 seconds after taking the key off. This makes easier to start the engine in
case of accidentally stopping because there’s no checking.
