Technical Information
The Transponder Immobiliser System is known as Skim and is common across all models and a maximum of
eight keys can be programmed to the Skim Immobiliser System. You will require a Four Pin Code for
programming which can be obtained through the dealer network or sometimes can be found in the new vehicle
documents invoice. The Software Card allows you to program additional keys or erase all keys. If you chose to
erase keys you will need two newly cut keys to program to the vehicle before it will start. Once the keys are
programmed into the system they cannot be used to program into another vehicle unlike other systems. If you
try to program keys with the wrong pin code three times the system will shut down and you will need to leave a
key turned on in the ignition for one hour, before you can attempt to program once more. The immuniser
control light which is in the instrument cluster is a red circle which when the key is programmed correctly will
go solid and go out. If the pin code is wrong or an incorrect unprogrammed Transponder key is used the
immoliser light will flash constantly. The Chrysler Sebring and Stratus models use the Mitsubishi Transponder
and Immobiliser System. To program these models use the Mitsubishi Software Card with Combo L1 Lead.
