Checking automatic transmission fluid
Refertoyour“ServiceGuide”forscheduledintervals
forfluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransaxledoes
notconsumefluid.However,thefluidlevelshould
becheckedifthetransaxleisnotworkingproperly,
i.e.,ifthetransaxleslipsorshiftsslowlyorifyou
noticesomesignoffluidleakage.
Automatictransmissionfluidexpandswhen
warmed.Toobtainanaccuratefluidcheck,
drivethevehicleuntilitiswarmedup
(approximately30km[20miles]).Ifyour
vehiclehasbeenoperatedforanextended
periodathighspeeds,incitytrafficduringhot
weatherorpullingatrailer,thevehicleshould
beturnedoffforabout30minutestoallow
fluidtocoolbeforechecking.
