Beforeyoureachandlatchacombinationlapand
shoulderbelthavinganadjusttongueintothe
buckle,youmayhavetolengthenthelapbelt
portionofit.Tolengthenthelapbelt,pullsome
webbingoutoftheshoulderbeltretractor.While
holdingthewebbingbelowthetongue,graspthe
tonguesothatitisparalleltothewebbingandslide
thetongueupward.Provideenoughlengthsothat
thetonguecanreachthebuckle.
Tofastenthebelt,pullthecombinationlapand
shoulderbeltfromtheretractorsothattheshoulder
beltportionofthesafetybeltcrossesyourshoulder
andchest.Besurethebeltisnottwisted.Ifthebelt
istwisted,removethetwist.Insertthetongueinto
theproperbuckleforyourseatingpositionuntilyou
hearasnapandfeelitlatch.Makesurethetongue
issecurelyfastenedtothebucklebypullingonthe
tongue.
Thelapbeltsshouldfitsnuglyandaslowas
possiblearoundthehips,notaroundthe
waist.
Frontandrearseatoccupants,including
pregnantwomen,shouldwearsafetybelts
foroptimumprotectioninanaccident.
Eachseatingpositioninyourvehiclehasa
specificsafetybeltassemblywhichismade
upofonebuckleandonetonguethataredesigned
tobeusedasapair.1)Usetheshoulderbelton
theoutsideshoulderonly.Neverweartheshoulder
beltunderthearm.2)Neverswingitaroundyour
neckovertheinsideshoulder.3)Neverusea
singlebeltformorethanoneperson.
