Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwith
thenotchesonthefillerpipe.

Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilit
stops.
Ifthe“ServiceEngineSoon/CheckEngine“indicator
comesonandstaysonwhenyoustarttheengine,
thefuelfillercapmaynotbeproperlyinstalled.
Turnofftheengine,removethefuelfillercapand
reinstallitbeingcarefultoalignthecapproperly.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replace
itwithanauthorizedMotorcraftpart.The
customerwarrantymaybevoidforanydamage
tothefueltankorfuelsystemifanauthorized
Motorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
Thefuelsystemmaybeunderpressure.If
thefuelfillercapisventingvapororifyou
hearahissingsound,waituntilitstopsbefore
completelyremovingthefuelfillercap.Otherwise,
fuelmaysprayoutandinjureyouorothers.
Ifyoudonotusetheproperfuelfillercap,
thepressureinthefueltankcandamage
thefuelsystemorcauseittoworkimproperlyina
collision.
