Yourvehicleisequippedwitha

whichnormallydoesnotrequire
additionalwaterduringitslifeof
service.
However,forsevereusageorinhightemperatureclimates,checkthe
batteryelectrolytelevel.Refertotheservicemaintenancesectionforthe
serviceintervalschedules.
Keeptheelectrolytelevelineachcelluptothe“levelindicator”.
Donotoverfillthebatterycells.
Iftheelectrolytelevelinthebatteryislow,youcanaddplaintapwater
tothebattery,aslongasyoudonotusehardwater(waterwithahigh
mineraloralkalicontent).Ifpossible,however,trytoonlyfillthebattery
cellswithdistilledwater.Ifthebatteryneedswateroften,havethe
chargingsystemchecked.
Ifyourbatteryhasacover/shield,makesureitisreinstalled
afterthebatteryhasbeencleanedorreplaced.
Forlonger,trouble-freeoperation,keepthetopofthebatterycleanand
dry.Also,makecertainthebatterycablesarealwaystightlyfastenedto
thebatteryterminals.
Ifyouseeanycorrosiononthebatteryorterminals,removethecables
fromtheterminalsandcleanwithawirebrush.Youcanneutralizethe
acidwithasolutionofbakingsodaandwater.
WARNING: Batteriesnormallyproduceexplosivegaseswhich
cancausepersonalinjury.Therefore,donotallowflames,
sparksorlightedsubstancestocomenearthebattery.When
workingnearthebattery,alwaysshieldyourfaceandprotect
youreyes.Alwaysprovideproperventilation.
