Brakefluidshouldbecheckedand
refilledasneeded.Refertothe
scheduledmaintenancesectionfor
theserviceintervalschedules.

Cleanthereservoircapbefore
removaltopreventdirtorwater
fromenteringthereservoir.

Visuallyinspectthefluidlevel.
Ifnecessary,addbrakefluid
fromacleanun-opened
containeruntilthelevelreaches
MAX.Donotfillabovethisline.

Useonlybrakefluidscertified
tomeetMazdaspecifications.
RefertoLubricant
specificationsinthischapter.
DOT3fluidisrecommended.However,ifDOT3isnotavailable,
DOT4fluidcanbeused.
WARNING: Brakefluidistoxic.Ifbrakefluidcontactsthe
eyes,flusheyeswithrunningwaterfor15minutes.Seek
medicalattentionifirritationpersists.Iftakeninternally,drink
waterandinducevomiting.Seekmedicalattentionimmediately.
WARNING: IfyouuseDOT5oranyotherbrakefluidthatis
notDOT3orDOT4,youwillcausepermanentdamagetoyour
brakes.
WARNING: Donotletthefluidlevelinthereservoirforthe
mastercylinderfallbelowtheMINmark.Ifmastercylinder
runsdry,thismaycausethebrakestofail.
