atleastfouridleperiods.
Allowthevehicletositforatleasteighthourswithoutstartingthe
engine.Then,starttheengineandcompletetheabovedrivingcycle.The
enginemustwarmuptoitsnormaloperatingtemperature.Oncestarted,
donotturnofftheengineuntiltheabovedrivingcycleiscomplete.
CHECKING AND ADDING POWER STEERING  FLUID
Checkthepowersteeringfluid.
Refertotheservicemaintenance
sectionfortheserviceinterval
schedules.Ifaddingfluidis
necessary,useonlyMERCON௡ATF.

Starttheengineandletitrununtilitreachesnormaloperating
temperature(theenginecoolanttemperaturegaugeindicatorwillbe
nearthecenterofthenormalareabetweenHandC).
Whiletheengineidles,turnthesteeringwheelleftandrightseveral
times.

Turntheengineoff.
Checkthefluidlevelinthe
reservoir.Itshouldbebetween
theMINandMAXlines.Donot
addfluidifthelevelisinthis
range.

Ifthefluidislow,addfluidinsmallamounts,continuouslychecking
theleveluntilitreachestherangebetweentheMINandMAXlines.
Besuretoputthecapbackonthereservoir.
