Place as much cargo as possible in front of the rear
axle. Too much weight or improp erly placed weight
over or behind the rear axle can cause the rear of the
vehicle to sway.

Cargo tie-d own hook s are not safe anchors for a
child seat teth er strap . In a sudden stop or colli-
sion a hook could pull loose and allow the child
seat to come loose. A child could be badly injured .
Use only the anchors provid ed for child seat
teth ers.
Do not pile luggage or cargo higher than the top of the 3
seatback. This could impair visibility or becom e a
dangerou s projectile in a sudden stop or collision.
The weigh t and position of cargo and passen gers
can change the veh icle center of gravity and
veh icle handlin g. To avoid loss of control resu lt-
ing in person al injury, follow these guidelin es for
load ing you r veh icle:

To help protect again st person al injury, passen gers
should not be seated in the rear cargo area. The rear
cargo space is inten ded for load carryin g purposes
only, not for passen gers, who should sit in seats and
use seat belts.

Alw ays place cargo evenly on the cargo floor. Put
heavier objects as low and as far forw ard as possible.
