Research has show n that seat belts save lives, and they
can red uce the seriou sness of injuries in a collision. Some
of the worst injuries hap pen when peop le are throw n
from the vehicle. Seat belts red uce the possibility of
ejection and the risk of injury caused by striking the
insid e of the vehicle. Everyon e in a motor vehicle shou ld

Lap/Shoulder Belts
All the seats in you r vehicle are equ ipped with Lap/
Shou lder Belts.
The belt webbing retractor is designed to lock during
very sudden stop s or collisions. This featu re allow s the
shou lder part of the belt to move freely with you und er
norm al cond itions. But in a collision, the belt will lock
and red uce the risk of you r striking the insid e of the
vehicle or being throw n out.
Buckle up even thou gh you are an excellent driver, even
on short trip s. Someone on the road may be a poor driver
and cause a collision that inclu des you . This can hap pen
far away from hom e or on you r own street.
