STARTING AND OPERATING

The TPM system is not intend ed to rep lace norm al tire
care and maintenance, nor to provid e warning of a tire
failu re or cond ition.
CAUTIO N!
The TPM system has been optim ized for the origin al
equipment tires and wheels. TPM system pressu res
have been estab lish ed for the tire size equipped on
you r veh icle. Undesirab le system operation or sen -
sor damage may resu lt when usin g rep lacem ent
equipment that is not of the sam e size, typ e, and/or
style. After-m ark et wheels can cause sen sor damage.
Do not use tire sealan t or balan ce bead s if you r
veh icle is equipped with a TPM system , as damage
to the sen sors may resu lt.

The TPM system shou ld not be used as a tire pressu re
gau ge while adjusting you r tire pressu re.
The TPM system must be retrained after a tire rotation
or wheel rim mounted sensor rep lacem ent. See you r
authorized dealer for service.
CAUTIO N!
After inspectin g or adjustin g the tire pressu re al-
ways rein stall the valve stem cap, if equipped. This
will preven t moistu re and dirt from enterin g the
valve stem , which could damage the wheel rim
sen sor.
NOTE:
•
The TPM system can inform the driver of a low tire
pressu re cond ition of 25 psi [1.72 bars] (172 kPa) or
less, or high a tire pressu re cond ition of 45 psi [3.10
bars] (310 kPa) or more.
