WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
location. Do not raise the veh icle until you are sure the
jack is secu rely engaged . Never jack up the veh icle
usin g any suspension components.
7. Remove the wheel lug nu ts, then pull the wheel off the
hu b.

Install the spare wheel. Then install the wheel lug nu ts

Raise the vehicle by turning the jack screw to the right,
with the cone shap ed end of the nu t tow ard the wheel.
Lightly tighten the nu ts. To avoid the risk of forcing the
vehicle off the jack, do not tighten the lug nu ts fully until
the vehicle has been lowered .

tire just clears the surface and enou gh clearance is
obtained to install the spare tire. Minim um tire lift
provid es maxim um stability.

Lower the vehicle by turning the jack screw to the left.

Finish tightening the lug nu ts. Push down on the
WARN ING!
wrench while tightening for increased leverage. Alternate
nu ts until each nu t has been tightened twice. Correct
wheel nu t tightness is 130 N·m (95 ft. lbs). If in doubt
abou t the correct tightness, have them checked with a
torqu e wrench by you r dealer or at a service station.
Raisin g the veh icle high er than necessary can make
the veh icle less stab le. It could slip off the jack and
hurt som eon e near it. Raise the veh icle only enough
to rem ove the tire.

Lower the jack to its fully closed position.
