Ifthepowerretractablehardtopcannotbe
closedevenaftertheoperationconditions
areallmet,haveitcheckedatan
AuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Ifyouareunabletohavethehardtop
checkedatanAuthorizedMazdaDealer,
thehardtopcanbeclosedmanuallyasan
emergencymeasure.

Donotperformtheprocedureina
strongwindasitcouldcausean
unexpectedaccident.
Twoadultsarerequiredtoperform

theprocedure,especiallywhen
liftingupthehardtop.Donotdoit
alonesoasnottocauseinjuryor
vehicledamage.
Somestepsintheprocedurerequire
usingmultipletoolsatthesametime
andacertainleveloftechnical
expertise.Inaddition,holdingyour
bodyextendedoverthecarcanresult
inmusclestrainssoMazda
recommendshavingthehardtop
checkedatanAuthorizedMazda

suchasaflashlight,toimprove
visibilityunderthedecklidwhen
performingthistask.
Beforeclosingmanually
1.
Parkonalevelsurfaceofftheright-of-
wayandfirmlysettheparkingbrake.
2.
Putavehiclewithanautomatic
transmissioninPark(P),amanual
transmissioninReverse(R)or1,and
turnofftheengine.
3.
TurntheignitionswitchtotheLOCK
positionwhiledepressingthebrake
pedal.
