sensors,seatingachildinachild-restraintsystemonthepassengerseatunderthe
followingconditionsincreasesthedangerofthepassengerairbagdeployingand
couldresultinseriousinjuryordeathtothechild.Theseareamongthereasonswhy
thepassengerairbagshouldbeturnedoffusingthekey.
Thetotalseatedweightofthechildwiththechild-restraintsystemonthepassenger

seatisapproximately30kg(66lb)ormorewithachildinthechild-restraint
system.
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedontheseatwiththechildinthechild-restraint

system.
Theseatiswashed.

Thepassengerseatismovedbackward,anditispushedintoluggageorotheritems

Allowinganyonetoleanoveroragainstthedoorisdangerous.Ifthevehicleis
equippedwithsideairbags,theimpactofaninflatingsideairbagcouldcauseserious
injuryordeathtotheperson.Childrenaremorelikelytosleepinthevehicle;when
theydo,theyaremoreatriskinthepassenger'sseatthathasasideairbagbecause
theymayslumpoverintothepathoftheseatback-mountedairbag.Furthermore,
leaningoveroragainstthedoorscouldblockthesideairbagandeliminatethe
advantagesofsupplementalprotection.Becausethesideairbagdeploysfromthe
outboardshoulderoftheseat,donotallowthechildtoleanoveroragainsttheside
window,evenifthechildisseatedinachild-restraintsystem.
Neveruseoneseatbeltonmorethanonepersonatatime:
Usingoneseatbeltformorethanonepersonatatimeisdangerous.Aseatbeltused
inthiswaycannotspreadtheimpactforcesproperlyandthetwopassengerscouldbe
crushedtogetherandseriouslyinjuredorevenkilled.Neveruseonebeltformore
thanonepersonatatimeandalwaysoperatethevehiclewitheachoccupantproperly
restrained.
