continuouslywhenthestartknobhas
notbeenreturnedtotheLOCK
positiontonotifythedriverthatthe
advancedkeyhasbeenremovedfrom
thevehicle.Itwillstopflashingwhen
theadvancedkeyisbackinsidethe
vehicle.
Theadvancedkeycanbesetsothatthe
KEYindicatorlight(green)doesnot
flashevenifthebatterypowerislow.
RefertoSettingChange(Function
Customization)(page3-20).

Thestartknobhasnotbeenreturned

totheLOCKposition,thedriver's
doorisopen,andtheadvancedkey
isremovedfromthevehicle.

advancedkeyfromthevehicle.
Thisindicatorlightstartsflashingevery2
secondswhentheignitionswitchisturned
fromtheONtotheACCpositionandthe
immobilizersystemisarmed.
NOTE
TheflashingKEYwarninglight(red)
andthebeepsoundoperate
Thelightstopsflashingwhentheignition
switchisturnedtotheONpositionwith
thecorrectignitionkey.
Atthistime,theimmobilizersystemis
disarmedandthelightilluminatesfor
about3secondsandthengoesout.

Whenilluminated
Whenthestartknobispushedinfromthe
LOCKposition,thesystemconfirmsthat
thecorrectadvancedkeyisinsidethe
vehicle,theKEYindicatorlight(green)
illuminates,andthestartknobcanbe
turnedtotheACCposition(page3-10).
Iftheenginedoesn'tstartwiththecorrect
ignitionkey,andthesecurityindicator
lightkeepsilluminatingorflashing,the
systemmayhaveamalfunction.Consult
anAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Whenflashing
Whentheadvancedkeybatterypoweris
low,theKEYindicatorlightflashesfor30
secondsafterthestartknobisturnedfrom
theONpositiontotheACCorLOCK
position.Replacewithanewbattery
beforetheadvancedkeybecomes
unusable(page3-6).
