Donotincreasethetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassengerseat:
Whenaninfantorsmallchildsitsonthepassengerseat,increasingthetotalseated
weightonthepassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightofapproximately30kg(66
lb)isdangerous.Thepassengerseatweightsensorswilldetecttheincreasedtotal
seatedweight,whichcouldresultintheunexpecteddeploymentofthepassengerfront
andsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersysteminanaccidentandmaycause
seriousinjury.Increasingthetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatbeyondthe
totalseatedweightofapproximately30kg(66lb)couldresultinthepassengerfront
andsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemdeploymentinanaccidentunder
thefollowingconditions,forexample:
Thetotalseatedweightofthechildwiththechild-restraintsystemonthepassenger
l
seatisapproximately30kg(66lb)ormore.
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedontheseatwiththechildinthechild-restraint
l
system.
Theseatiswashed.
l
Liquidsarespilledontheseat.
l
Thepassengerseatismovedbackward,anditispushedintoluggageorotheritems
l
placedbehindit.
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedbetweenthepassengerseatandcenterconsole.
l
Anyaccessorieswhichmightincreasethetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseat
l
areattachedtothepassengerseat.
Thepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemswill
deactivateifthetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatislessthanapproximately30
kg(66lb)andtheywillreactivatewhentheweightexceedsapproximately42kg(93
lb).
CAUTION
Toassureproperdeploymentofthefrontairbagandtopreventdamagetothesensors
l
intheseatbottoms:
Donotplacesharpobjectsontheseatbottomsorleaveheavyluggageonthem.
l
Donotspillanyliquidsontheseatsorundertheseats.
l
Toallowthesensorstofunctionproperly,alwaysperformthefollowing:
l
Adjusttheseatsasfarbackaspossibleandalwayssituprightagainsttheseatbacks
l
withseatbeltswornproperly.
Ifyouplaceyourchildonthepassengerseat,securethechild-restraintsystem
l
properlyandslidethepassengerseatasfarbackaspossible.
