stomacharea.

qEmergencyLockingMode

Intheemergencylockingmode,thebeltremainscomfortableontheoccupantandthe

retractorwilllockinpositionduringacollision.Whentheseatbeltisfastened,itwill

alwaysbeintheemergencylockingmodeuntilitisswitchedtoautomaticlockingmodeby

pullingitallthewayouttoitsfulllength.Ifthebeltfeelstightandhinderscomfortable

movementwhilethevehicleisstoppedorinmotion,itmaybeintheautomaticlocking

modebecausethebelthasbeenpulledtoofarout.Toreturntothebelttothemore

comfortableemergencylockingmode,waituntilthevehiclehasstoppedinasafe,level

area,retractthebeltfullytoconvertitbacktoemergencylockingmodeandthenextendit

aroundyouagain.

qAutomaticLockingMode

Toenableseatbeltautomaticlockingmode,pullitallthewayoutandconnectitas

instructedonthechild-restraintsystem.Itwillretractdowntothechild-restraintsystem

andstaylockedonit.IftheLATCHloweranchorsarenotusedaloneforLATCHstyle

juniorseatsandinfantcarrierswithouttethers,alwaysusetheautomaticlockingmodeto

keepthechild-restraintsystemfromshiftingtoanunsafepositionintheeventofan

accident.Seethesectiononchildrestraint(page2-15).
