Thebuckleswitchesontheseatbeltsdetectwhetherornottheseatbeltsaresecurely
fastenedandfurthercontrolthedeploymentoftheairbags.
qHowtheSideAirBagsWorkí
Whenairbagcrashsensorsdetectasideimpactofgreaterthanmoderateforce,an
electricalcurrentissenttotheinflators.
Gasesareproducedtoinflatethesideairbagsandaftertheinflation,thesideairbags
quicklydeflate.However,thesideairbagsystemforthepassengerisdesignedtoonly
deployinaccordancewiththetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseat.
Thesideairbagswillfunctiononlyonce.Afterthat,thesideairbagswillnotworkagain
andmustbereplaced.OnlyanAuthorizedMazdaDealercanreplacethesystems.
The side air bag will deploy only on the
side the vehicle receives the force of the
impact.
