Incasethereisaproblemwiththe
frontpassengersensingsystem,the
airbagreadinesslampinthe
instrumentclusterwillstaylit.
Iftheairbagreadinesslampislit,dothefollowing:
Thedriverand/oradultpassengersshouldcheckforanyobjectsthat
maybelodgedunderneaththefrontpassengerseatorcargointerfering
withtheseat.
Ifobjectsarelodgedand/orcargoisinterferingwiththeseat;pleasetake
thefollowingstepstoremovetheobstruction:

Pullthevehicleover.
Turnthevehicleoff.
Driverand/oradultpassengersshouldcheckforanyobjectslodged
underneaththefrontpassengerseatorcargointerferingwiththeseat.

Removetheobstruction(s)(iffound).
Restartthevehicle.
Waitatleasttwominutesandverifythattheairbagreadinesslampis
nolongerilluminated
•
Iftheairbagreadinesslampremainsilluminated,thismayormay/not
beaproblemduetothefrontpassengersensingsystem.
DONOTattempttorepairorservicethesystem;takeyourvehicle
immediatelytoanauthorizeddealer.
Ifitisnecessarytomodifyanadvancedfrontairbagsystemto
accommodateapersonwithdisabilities,contacttheFordCustomer
RelationshipCenteratthephonenumbershownintheCustomer
AssistancechapterofthisOwner’sGuide.
WARNING:Anyalteration/modificationtothefrontpassenger
seatmayaffecttheperformanceofthefrontpassengersensing
system.
Determining if the system is operational
Thesupplementalrestraintsystemusesawarningindicatorlightinthe
instrumentclusteroraback-uptonetoindicatetheconditionofthe
system.RefertotheWarninglightsandchimessectioninthe
InstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceoftheairbagisnot
required.
