Seating and Safety Restraints
WARNING:IftheSafetyCanopysystemhasdeployed,the
SafetyCanopywillnotfunctionagainunlessreplaced.The
SafetyCanopysystem(includingtheA,B,C,andDpillartrimand
headliner)mustbeinspectedandservicedbyanauthorizeddealer.If
theSafetyCanopyisnotreplaced,itwillnotfunctionagain,which
willincreasetheriskofinjuryinafuturecollision.
Determiningifthesystemisoperational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadiness
sectionintheInstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Anydifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthe
following:

Thereadinessairbaglight(samelightasforfrontairbagsystem)will
eitherflashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnotilluminateimmediatelyafterignitionis
turnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemandlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atyouranauthorizeddealerimmediately.Unlessserviced,thesystem
maynotfunctionproperlyintheeventofacollisionorrolloverevent.
SOS Post-Crash Alert System™
TheSOSPost-CrashAlertautomaticallyflashestheturnsignallampsand
soundsthehornthreetimesatfoursecondintervalsintheeventofa
seriousimpactthatdeploysanairbag(front,side,sidecurtainorSafety
Canopy)orthesafetybeltpretensioners.
TheSOSPost-CrashAlertcanbeturnedoffwhenanyoneofthe
followingactionsaretakenbythedriveroranyotherperson:

pressingthehazardcontrolbutton,
orpressingthepanicbuttonontheremoteentrytransmitter.
Thefeaturewillcontinuetooperateuntilthevehiclerunsoutofpower.
Disposal of airbags and airbag equipped vehicles
Fordisposalofairbagsorairbagequippedvehicles,seeyourauthorized
dealer.AirbagsMUSTBEdisposedofbyqualifiedpersonnel.
