Starting your vehicle
Enginestartingiscontrolledbythepowertraincontrolsystem.
ThissystemmeetsallCanadianinterference-causingequipmentstandard
requirementsregulatingtheimpulseelectricalfieldstrengthofradio
noise.
Whenstartingafuel-injectedengine,don’tpresstheacceleratorbefore
orduringstarting.Onlyusetheacceleratorwhenyouhavedifficulty

Toavoidpotentialtransmissiondamageatextremelycoldtemperatures
(below-20°F[-30°C]),itisrecommendedthatthevehiclebewarmedup
tonormaloperatingtemperaturebeforedrivingathighwayspeedsabove
50
mph(80km/h).Normaloperatingtemperatureisnormallyreached
after10minutesofmoderatedrivingoridling.
WARNING:Extendedidlingathighenginespeedscanproduce
veryhightemperaturesintheengineandexhaustsystem,
creatingtheriskoffireorotherdamage.
WARNING:Donotpark,idle,ordriveyourvehicleindrygrass
orotherdrygroundcover.Theemissionsystemheatsupthe
enginecompartmentandexhaustsystem,whichcanstartafire.
