pullupontheshoulderbeltwhile
pushingdownwithyourkneeonthe
childseat.

Allowthesafetybelttoretractto
removeanyslackinthebelt.

Beforeplacingthechildinthe
seat,forciblytilttheseatforward
andbacktomakesuretheseatis
securelyheldinplace.Tocheck
this,grabtheseatatthebeltpath
andattempttomoveitsidetoside
andforwardandback.Thereshould
benomorethanoneinchof
movementforproperinstallation.

Trytopullthebeltoutoftheretractortomakesuretheretractoris
intheautomaticlockingmode(youshouldnotbeabletopullmorebelt
out).Iftheretractorisnotlocked,unbucklethebeltandrepeatsteps
twothroughnine.
Checktomakesurethechildseatisproperlysecuredbeforeeachuse.
Attaching safety seats with tether straps
Childrenshouldbeplacedintherearinanappropriatechild
safetyseatthatisproperlysecuredtothevehicle.
Whenusingforward-facingchildsafetyseatsinvehicleswith
onlytwoseatingpositionssotheforward-facingchildsafetyseat
cannotbeplacedintherearofthevehicle,movethepassengerseatas
farbackfromtheinstrumentpanelaspossible.
Donotuseaforward–facingsafetyseatoraninfantseatinthe
lastrowofa12–or15–passengerClubWagon.
