Brakefluidistoxic.Ifbrakefluidcontactstheeyes,flusheyes

withrunningwaterfor15minutes.Seekmedicalattentionif

irritationpersists.Iftakeninternally,drinkwaterandinducevomiting.

Seekmedicalattentionimmediately.

IfyouuseabrakefluidthatisnotDOT3,youwillcause

permanentdamagetoyourbrakes.

Donotletthereservoirforthemastercylinderrundry.This

maycausethebrakestofail.

DRIVELINE UNIVERSAL JOINT AND SLIP YOKE

Yourvehiclemaybeequippedwithuniversaljointsthatrequire

lubrication.Refertothescheduledmaintenanceguideformaintenance

intervals.Iftheoriginaluniversaljointsarereplacedwithuniversaljoints

equippedwithgreasefittings,lubricationwillalsobenecessary.

TRANSMISSION FLUID

Checking automatic transmission fluid (if equipped)

Refertoyourscheduledmaintenanceguideforscheduledintervalsfor

fluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransmissiondoesnotconsumefluid.

However,thefluidlevelshouldbecheckedifthetransmissionisnot

workingproperly,i.e.,ifthetransmissionslipsorshiftsslowlyorifyou

noticesomesignoffluidleakage.

Automatictransmissionfluidexpandswhenwarmed.Toobtainan

accuratefluidcheck,drivethevehicleuntilitisatnormaloperating

temperature(approximately30km[20miles]).Ifyourvehiclehasbeen

operatedforanextendedperiodathighspeeds,incitytrafficduringhot

weatherorpullingatrailer,thevehicleshouldbeturnedoffforabout30

minutestoallowfluidtocoolbeforechecking.

Drivethevehicle30km(20miles)oruntilitreachesnormaloperating

temperature.

starttheengineandmovethegearshiftleverthroughallofthegear

ranges.Allowsufficienttimeforeachgeartoengage.

Parkthevehicleonalevelsurfaceandengagetheparkingbrake.

Withtheparkingbrakeengagedandyourfootonthebrakepedal,

LatchthegearshiftleverinP(Park)andleavetheenginerunning.
